Like I promised the last time, this time I’m making stickers with my Cricut Maker 3. If you want to follow the instructions, you will need:
- Cricut Maker 3
- Cricut Design Space app
- Image for the sticker
- Sticker paper/vinyl
- Colour printer
If you don’t have a Cricut machine with print-then-cut feature, you can of course design the stickers in any design tool, print the stickers and then cut them with scissors.
If you’d rather watch a video than read, here’s the video 😁:
Uploading the image to Cricut Design Space
This process follows the same pattern as in my previous post.
Firstly, open a new canvas in Cricut Design Space. I’m using the Android version of the application for this demonstration.
Next, you’ll need an image for your sticker. I’m using an image I previously generated with MidJourney AI, but you can use any image you like.

Use the automatic background remover and the eraser tool to eliminate any unwanted parts of the image. Ensure you don’t miss any tiny bits by zooming in. Once you’re satisfied, apply the changes and upload the image as a flat graphic. Set a name for your image.
Using the Cricut Design Space
Duplicate the image on the canvas to try different settings for your stickers.

Select the Edit->Create Sticker.

For the first copy, choose the die-cut option from the edit menu, which cuts all the way through the material to the exact design. You can add a border around your design if desired.

For the second copy, select the kiss-cut option, which cuts through the printable material only. Again, you can add a border or a die-cut edge.

We’re now ready to print. Select Make It from the upper right corner of the app. You can select how many copies you want to print. If your stickers are too big, go back and resize them by dragging the corners of the image or in the Edit menu. Once ready, send your design to the printer.
Printing and cutting the stickers
Print your design on printable self-adhesive vinyl.

After printing, choose the appropriate material setting for the Cricut machine.

In this case, the setting was not correct, as the kiss cut sticker wasn’t cut all the way through. The solution is to add more kiss-cut pressure.

Using the Cricut Maker is often tricky, but also rewarding when you finally get everything right. Stay tuned for more projects!
