Making an Acrylic Keyring

Making an Acrylic Keyring

Hello again! Now that I know how to make stickers,  I decided to make some acrylic keyrings with stickers. I painted the backside with glitter and acrylic paint.

Here’s the list of used materials:

  • an acrylic blank (5×5 cm square) + the keychain
  • a sticker
  • glitter and acrylic paint
  • gloss lacquer
  • paint brushes
  • sandpaper (P240)
  • a couple of pliers

Painting the backside

The acrylic blanks are often protected by a film. Remove the film on one side. Then sand that side with sandpaper. Remove the dust.

Paint the blank 2-3 times with glitter paint. Let the paint dry thoroughly between layers.

Mix glitter paint with acrylic paint and add a couple more layers of paint on the backside.

Finish with a layer or two of gloss lacquer.

The Frontside

Remove the protective film from the other side of the acrylic blank. Put the sticker on the blank.

Use the pliers to attach the keychain to the blank.

The finished product:

This is so easy to do, but takes a lot of time because of waiting for the paint to dry. That’s why it’s best to make many at the same time.
